Introduction: The imbalance of the microorganisms found in the intestine, is called intestinal dysbiosis, this condition allows the spread or increase of pathogenic bacteria. Objective: To synthesize the paper that maternal intestinal dysbiosis plays in the pathogenesis of preterm birth and the correlation between pregnancy duration, type of delivery and maturation of neonatal intestinal flora. Methods: A bibliographic search was carried out in the following search engines: SCIENCE DIRECT, ELSEVIER, COCHRANE, SCOPUS, MEDLINE, LILACS, CINAHL, PUBMED, SCIELO, EBSCO. Results: 43 articles were found, of which 35 articles were used that contributed transcendental information to this review, and 8 articles that did not meet the criteria were excluded. Discussion: The variation of the balance between the bacteria in the intestine can cause, what is known as maternal inflammatory bowel disease, which is related to premature birth and other conditions Conclusion: Maternal intestinal dysbiosis can cause inflammatory reactions in the uterus that lead to premature delivery, however, more studies are needed to clarify their relationship. Keywords: dysbiosis, premature delivery, pregnancy, caesarean section, newborn.
Introduction: The microbiota was defined as the set of micro-organisms that coexist in symbiosis in our body and that could be modified by diet, drugs, habits and fulfills functions of metabolism and immunity. Objective: To identify the influence of the diet on the intestinal microbiota. Method: Non-systematic bibliographic review in databases PubMed, Elsevier, Redalyc, Scielo, Google Scholar, La Reference, Scopus, WoS, among others, which included the terms diet, nutrition, intestinal microbiota, joined these terms by the Boolean connectors, in languages such as English and Spanish. Results: Review of articles in relation to the topic and objective of the present literature review study that fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Discussion: The intestinal microbiota included microorganisms that permanently colonize the gastrointestinal tract and others that do it temporarily. Many of the factors that influenced in the composition were dietary habits such and factors such as drinking water, the quality and hygiene of food; and it will also be influenced by the food the person receives at each stage of his live. Conclusion: The diet could produce alterations in the intestinal microbiota through different mechanisms, it also stablished that each person had a unique microbiota that fulfills the same physiological functions and depends on factors such as living conditions, water purity, food hygiene quality, weather an physical activity. Keywords: diet, microbiota, gastrointestinal diseases, metabolism, inmmunity.
Introduction: Pregnancy was defined as a state that exposes women to multiple anatomical-physiological, biochemical, psychological, and adaptive genomic changes in an environment of homeostatic balance and preparation of the fetus in the external environment. From fertilization to birth, a genetic program previously imprinted in your cells had been developed, which was influenced by the state of maternal health, preconception, nutritional factors, and the diet of the pregnant woman. Other secondary ones were of the maternal-fetal hormonal type, stress, toxic, viral or bacterial infections. Objective: To describe the influence of nutrition and maternal diet as factors of change in the epigenetic regulation of the placenta and in the perinatal results. Methods: Academic Google, Scopus, PubMed, ClinicalKey databases were searched using MeSH and DeCS terms: ‘epigenetics’, ‘placent’, ‘diet’, ‘pregnancy’, ‘imprint’. Discussion: Methylation of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) was the common way for epigenetic expression to take place and could be demonstrated in tissues. Observations highlight differences in placental tissue and the existence of hypo-methylation zones of DNA that resemble those present in malignant cells, the placenta being very sensitive to epigenetic marks and to maternal and fetal signals that allow its adaptation or depress influences from the environment. Conclusion: The placenta had unique genomic characteristics and was a reactive tissue to internal and external influences that had great clinical importance for fetal growth, appearance of neural tube defects, development of diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and other extrauterine diseases. Keywords: epigenetic, nutrition, placenta, methylation.
