Abstract. Ninety‐seven cardiac patients who died while receiving long‐term anticoagulant treatment were compared with a similarly treated and selectively chosen group of controls who survived. The mean intensity of hypocoagulability (about 9% thrombotest) did not differ between these two groups and there was no significant difference in the stability of the anticoagulation. It was concluded that death bore no relationship to the adequacy or inadequacy of anticoagulation therapy in this material.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
