SAMU WORKERS: SUBJECTS WHO WORK BETWEEN PLEASURE AND PAIN ABSTRACTThis article presents a study about the psychodynamics of work with professionals of the Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (SAMU), from the northwestern region of RS. It aimed to understand how pleasure and recognition are articulated in the reframing process of suffering at work, promoting health and the emancipation of the worker. Data collection was performed on ten subjects, based on the methodology of psychodynamics of work created by Dejours, and on psychoanalytic listening. The content analysis of Bardin (1979) was used, in which six semantic categories were listed: dynamics of recognition, position of permanent alert, the use of practical intelligence, cooperation, collective defense strategies, reframing suffering and emancipation of workers. The results of the study showed that the recognition process is crucial to reframe the suffering and transform it into pleasure, revealing that other factors also affect this process such as opening room for speech, the use of practical intelligence, and collective work based on trust and cooperation.
