Dieser Beitrag widmet sich den bislang kaum erforschten Autorschaftskonzeptionen Thomas Bernhards am Beispiel des hier dem literarischen Gesamtwerk zugerechneten Leserbriefes. Ausgehend von einer Kontextualisierung der rezeptionsästhetischen Wirkung Thomas Bernhards durch seine Interviewkunst richtet sich die Untersuchung auf die Analyse performativer Effekte seiner Autorschaft im Leserbrief und ermöglicht so, Bernhards öffentliche Statements neu zu bewerten und in ihrer Wirkungsweise sowie Produktivität als nicht nur durch die Medien gesteuerte Werkkomponente aufzufassen, sondern gleichsam den literarischen Stellenwert dieser Gespräche vor dem Hintergrund einer intensiven Autorreferenzialität abzubilden.
