Este texto resulta das experiências vivenciadas no estágio docente no Ensino Superior, realizado na disciplina “Educação na Região Amazônica” no curso de Pedagogia da FACED/UFAM. Trata-se de um estudo de enfoque qualitativo, evidenciando a imprescindível contribuição da disciplina para a compreensão da região amazônica sob as dimensões territoriais, educacionais, culturais, econômicas, políticas, socioambientais. Destaca-se ainda a importância do estágio docente para a formação acadêmica dos sujeitos envolvidos no processo educativo.
Este artigo é resultado das atividades formativas e investigativas da Universidade Federal do Amazonas no âmbito do Programa Escola da Terra, desenvolvido em convênio com MEC/FNDE/SEMESP, referente à edição 2020/2021, durante a pandemia de Covid-19 no Estado do Amazonas. Neste estudo objetivamos socializar as experiências de formação contínua de professores/as do campo no município Presidente Figueiredo/AM, durante o curso de aperfeiçoamento em “Educação do Campo: práticas pedagógicas”. O estudo fundamenta-se nos pressupostos metodológicos da pesquisa qualitativa desenvolvida com apoio da pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo. Os resultados alcançados apontam que a formação contínua do programa Escola da Terra durante o curso aperfeiçoamento em Presidente Figueiredo promovida pela UFAM, permitiu um novo aprendizado os professores/as das escolas do campo, contribuindo diretamente com as práticas pedagógicas, o planejamento curricular embasado na pesquisa e interdisciplinaridade; a partir da valorização das experiências, da realidade e saberes dos sujeitos históricos dos territórios camponeses.
Infinitamente são muitos aos quais nesse momento devo expressar minha gratidão. Numa jornada que se inicia desde o ventre de minha mãe Zilma Gomes, carinhosamente conhecida como Dona Quinha, mulher amorosa e luz dos nossos caminhos, que tem ao seu lado um homem infinitamente grandioso na capacidade de amar: Claudio Francisco, meu pai. A eles a eterna gratidão de me conduzirem no amor incondicional de quem cuida, protege e ilumina. Através deles também ganhei um presente que marca minha vida, mesmo em meio às tempestades é sempre bom poder olhar para o lado e ver que se pode contar com um irmão (de sangue e de alma) Miquéias Gomes, muito obrigado por estar aqui e por nos dar Claudio Erick e Tiago, meus amados sobrinhos e meus mestres na arte de encarar a vida de um jeito que só a alma infantil é capaz de nos proporcionar. Seguindo a rota desse barco, agradeço à professora Maria Barroso, minha professora da pré-escola, obrigado por me ajudar a entender a escola como algo tão bom quanto o colo da minha mãe. Aqui também agradeço a todos os professores com os quais convivi e aprendi nos onze anos de vivência na Escola Estadual Thomé Ferreira Santiago, sintam-se todos abraçados, assim como todos os professores que me acompanharam nos quatro anos do curso de pedagogia da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal do Amazonas e nos dois anos do Curso de Mestrado em Educação da mesma instituição. De modo particular ao Grupo de Pesquisa Formação do (a) Educador (a) no Contexto Amazônico, minha eterna gratidão. À professora Lucíola Inês Pessoa Cavalcante, amiga que sempre disse que eu iria longe, olha onde cheguei, obrigado pelas sábias orientações do Pibic, do mestrado e da vida. Este artigo objetiva compreender o processo civilizatório no ocidente, o surgimento da escolarização ocidental e as tentativas de assimilação e aculturação acometidas aos povos indígenas a partir da análise do documentário Nossos espíritos não falam inglês. Nesse contexto histórico da escolarização ocidental dos povos indígenas, trilharemos caminhos obscuros e descobriremos A face oculta da escola por se tratar de uma prática educativa castradora e domesticadora, imposta pela suposta cultura superior ocidental que tentam apagar as memórias, culturas e identidades dos povos indígenas forçando uma prática de assimilação e aculturação de seus modos de vidas. Metodologicamente, trata-se de um estudo teórico de abordagem historiográfica, fazendo uso da pesquisa documental, tendo como instrumentos de coleta de dados, a técnica de transcrição e minutagem do documentário e a técnica de captura de imagens. Conclui-se que os povos indígenas nunca foram passivos desse processo, pelo contrário, havia grupos de resistência organizados pelos anciãos das tribos na defesa do direito à manutenção de suas origens étnicas e culturais pelo fato de que seus espíritos não falavam inglês, mas múltiplas línguas indígenas.
