Commun ,612 (1970) (13) A reviewer has suggested t h a t we should mention the concerted and/ or termolecular mechanism suggested by Douek and Wilkinson 8 We find the arguments of these authors unconvincing and believe t h a t a simple bimoleculai displacment of halide ion operates in oui system a t least The new compounds H3SiCr(C0)8(r-C6H5), H~S~M O ( C O )~( T -C~H~) , and H3SiW(C0)3(~-C6HS) were synthesized by the reaction of H3SiBr with KM'(CO)a(~-C&15) (where M' = Cr, Mo, W). The thermal stability of the compounds was ex-amined. The silicon-transition metal bond was cleaved a t room temperature by water and hydrogen chloride and a t slightly elevated temperatures by dimethylamine. Trimethylamine and dimethylamine formed adducts which were stable a t room temperature
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
