IntroduçãoO melão é uma das culturas mais exportadas no país, sendo a região Nordeste principal produtora, contribuindo com mais de 90% da produção nacional (SEBRAE, 2016). Diversos fatores interferem na produtividade e qualidade da cultura do melão, merecendo destaque a interferência das plantas daninhas, competindo por água, luz e nutrientes. Nas áreas de produção podemhospedar de pragas e doenças,dificultar na realização dos tratos culturais e colheita, e reduzira qualidade do produto comercial (SILVA et al., 2007).O controle químico, com o uso de herbicidas,apresenta elevada eficácia no manejo eredução de custos de produção (OLIVEIRA et al., 2013). Entretanto, a aplicação dessa prática no cultivo melão é limitada devido àescassez de trabalhos sobre o uso de herbicidas para essa cultura, havendo apenas dois produtos registrados (AGROFIT, 2016),e a elevada sensibilidade das plantasa herbicidas, limitando o uso desses produtos. Dessa forma, é de suma importância a realização de estudos visando a identificação de herbicidas com potencial para uso na cultura e que não afetem seu crescimento inicial. Diante disso o presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito de herbicidas aplicados em pré-transplantio sobre o crescimento inicial da cultura de melão pele-desapo visando identificação de produtos potencialmente seletivos.
