Konzentriert man sich auf die Oberflächenkompatibilität und somit auf die Wechselwirkungsphänomene im Biointerface zwischen Implantat und biologischen System, ist davon auszugehen, dass nach dem initialen Flüssigkeitskontakt, der u.a. die Selbstorganisation von Wassermolekülen einschließt [3], [4], sehr schnell eine unspezifische Proteinadsorption stattfindet. Nachfolgend treten dann verschiedene Zellen des Immunsystems und des Blutes [5] mit der so konditionierten Implantatoberfläche in Kontakt.
