Desde a sua estreia, Pasolini mostrou depositar uma grande confiança na música e nos sons, considerando-os instrumentos essenciais à expressão e até mesmo, já na época da revolução antropológica, similares a ações da realidade. Assim ele escreveu em sua autobiografia em versos, intitulada “Poeta delle Ceneri” (1966-1967): “[...] eu queria ser escritor de música [...] a única ação expressiva,/ talvez, alta e indefinível quanto as ações da realidade” (PASOLINI, 2015c, p. 1.288). A partir dessa confissão, o presente ensaio indaga – por meio de uma aproximação interdisciplinar que perpassa a produção poética, literária, cinematográfica e as reflexões ensaísticas de Pasolini – a origem de seu pensamento sonoro e as bases sobre as quais se sustentou a relação entre experiência, a qual transita também a partir da escuta, e formas de arte.
