A partir da criação de um Grupo de Trabalho multidisciplinar para a elaboração dos documentos institucionais normativos “Plano de Preservação Digital” e “Manual de Digitalização” voltados para a implementação de ações referentes à preservação digital nos acervos científicos e culturais da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), observou-se a necessidade de se estabelecer padrões mínimos de metadados descritivos, para integrar e dinamizar o acesso aos distintos objetos digitais que representam os acervos arquivístico, bibliográfico, museológico e de coleções biológicas que compõem o patrimônio da instituição. Considerando o caráter histórico (alguns datam do século XVIII), probatório, informativo e a função científica e cultural desses objetos, serão fixados também metadados específicos voltados ao apoio tanto de sua preservação a longo prazo quanto dos próprios metadados descritivos atribuídos a eles. Cabe ressaltar que, embora sejam tratados distintos objetos (peças museais, itens bibliográficos, documentos arquivísticos e acervos biológicos). A proposta desta comunicação será apresentar a metodologia aplicada para a definição dos metadados integrativos baseados no uso do padrão Dublin Core (DC) e para a definição dos metadados de preservação a longo prazo, fundamentado no Preservation Metadata: Implementation Strategies (PREMIS), de acordo com as premissas de autenticidade, confiabilidade e acessibilidade.
This article describes the importance of creating technical standardization procedures known in the area of Administration as Standard Operating Procedure - POP to ensure that the result of the solution is always the same, regardless of those responsible for the task. POP facilitates the performance of administrative and technical activities, contributing to the quality, safety and uniformity of tasks, serving as a vehicle for information about the most diverse processes to reach the executor safely. The creation and use of POP through training are essential to guarantee the quality and uniformity of all the processes involved in order to promote a consistent management of Arca regarding the resolution of known problems in version 4.7 of the DSpace.
A curadoria digital envolve atividades de gestão de dados e de informações que são muito importantes para a manutenção da qualidade de um repositório. Pensando nesse propósito, a equipe do Arca, Repositório Institucional da Fiocruz, estabeleceu um plano de ação para dar início ao trabalho de curadoria no repositório. O trabalho teve início em 2015 em caráter permanente, e procurou estabelecer diretrizes e padrões para o processo de gestão e de organização das informações e objetos digitais. Alguns aspectos relevantes foram levados em consideração durante o processo: alimentação descentralizada, crescimento acentuado do repositório, diversidade de conteúdo, formatos de armazenamento, validação dos metadados, utilização de padrões abertos para formatos de arquivo, procedimentos adotados, uniformização dos dados, monitoramento das comunidades e gestores, acessibilidade aos documentos, garantia de qualidade das informações, capacitação do profissional de informação/curador, inconformidades detectadas e resolução dos problemas abordados. Os resultados esperados com a realização da curadoria são: assegurar um padrão de qualidade dos registros e dos objetos digitais inseridos; fomentar ações para a preservação digital; e promover a organização de forma adequada da produção científica da Fiocruz inserida no repositório.Palavras-chave: Arca – Repositório Institucional da Fiocruz. Communication and information have never been more important than at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This health emergency has shown how the role of information professionals in Institutional Repositories has been decisive for the advancement of scientific knowledge about this disease. This phase has led to many reflections on the activities developed in the Repositories. They are faced with an expressive volume of information in real time about this new disease, where the results obtained in preliminary researches need to be released quickly. For this reason, this work presents the mapping of the work processes carried out by the information professionals of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, regarding the deposit of the Institution's intellectual production at ARCA - FIOCRUZ Institutional Repository on COVID-19, with the objective of dissemination and access to content. The first attitude towards making the tasks at the ARCA Repository possible and continuous was to strengthen the team's bond. Thus, it became necessary to build new strategies in the execution of the work, and a new resizing in the functions of the professionals to act quickly in recovering the production of studies from the scientific community. The proposal is to keep the population well informed, since in this pandemic situation, the prevention protocols against COVID-19 emphasize that care begins with individual responsibility, by following the guidelines of health managers. At the present time, there is no doubt about the enormous importance that Institutional Repositories represent, together with the essential performance of professionals who ensure relevant and emergency information for all users.
