O conceito de desenvolvimento regional tornou-se cada vez mais um assunto presente nas reflexões e debates acadêmicos, tanto para propor estratégias de desenvolvimento sustentável como para difundir seu conceito. Da mesma forma, a dimensão sociocultural tornou-se um fator de grande importância para que se atinja o desenvolvimento endógeno, porque estão contidos os valores, tradições e mentalidade, elementos que identificam e permitem um conhecimento mais significativo. No novo paradigma do desenvolvimento, o ser humano tornou-se o vetor do processo de sustentabilidade da região, com isso a peça chave para a formação deste agente transformador do conhecimento é a Educação Patrimonial. Este artigo objetiva salientar que projetos voltados à Educação Patrimonial são fundamentais para promover a preservação do patrimônio e o desenvolvimento sustentável de uma região. A Educação Patrimonial é um instrumento de alfabetização cultural, uma vez que possibilita um conhecimento com profundidade e a apropriação consciente dos valores e significados. Preserva-se aquilo que se conhece, portanto, é necessário reconstituir o patrimônio e educar a sociedade para que esta possa valorizar sua história, pois quem preserva sua história não perde sua identidade.
En 1993 iniciamos una investigación sobre el aplastamiento cultural y profesional impuesto a las mujeres en Rio Grande do Sul Republicano 2 , en la cual observamos la construcción y consolidación de los modelos de reina del hogar y ángel tutelar, que etiquetaron y limitaron las potencialidades femeninas, delegando un papel secundario en relación al hombre. En este proceso, las relaciones de poder y sumisión fueron establecidas por la cultura patriarcal desde la perspectiva de modelos femeninos presentes en el imaginario social, tales como Eva, María, Lilith y la Papisa Juana.En este ensayo revisitamos estos símbolos a partir de las obras de la artista plástica Marcela Meirelles, quien se identificó como mujer y ahora vive plenamente en su género. ResumoA educação feminina no Rio Grande do Sul foi marcada pela influência do discurso positivista republicano, que reforçou a mentalidade conservadora, cujo objetivo era tirar a mulher do campo profissional e científico. Esse discurso é bastante difundido nas manifestações culturais e na arte cemiterial, no qual a finalidade maior era consolidar junto ao imaginário popular o símbolo da perfeição feminina, inspirado em Clotilde de Vaux, personificação da Religião da Humanidade. Podemos perceber, através da análise da arte cemiterial, que tais representações visavam educar a população e, principalmente, a mulher, conscientizando-a de seus deveres e de seu lugar dentro da sociedade. Ese discurso es bastante difundido en las manifestaciones culturales y en el arte cemiterial, en el que el mayor propósito era consolidar em el imaginario popular el símbolo de la perfección femenina, inspirado por Clotilde de Vaux, personificación de la Religión de la Humanidad. Podemos percibir a través del análisis del arte cementerial que tales representaciones tenían la intención de educar al público, y especialmente a las mujeres, dando cuenta de sus obligaciones y de su lugar dentro de la sociedad, manipulando la imaginación popular con símbolos y signos.
