A atividade de monitoria no módulo remoto obrigatório de Microbiologia Clínica (ACT0063), oferecido ao curso de Farmácia (UFRN), proporciona aos discentes-monitores várias oportunidades de participação do âmbito acadêmico por meio de uma cooperação com os professores, permitindo aperfeiçoamento da qualidade do ensino remoto. Os conceitos teóricos e teórico-práticos foram ministrados por meio de videoaulas gravadas antecipadamente. As orientações sobre as atividades, bem como retorno e discussões dos conteúdos e casos clínicos, foram realizadas por meio de reuniões síncronas, utilizando-se a plataforma Google Meet. As atividades assíncronas consistiram na leitura e estudo de material, bem como acompanhamento e anotação de vídeos e links a respeito do módulo. Foram criados grupos de WhatsApp destinados a interação entre alunos, professores e monitores (local onde os discentes eram estimulados a tirar dúvidas). Em decorrência das atividades executadas, se obteve sucesso no rendimento acadêmico dos discentes, podendo observar a capacidade de aplicação do conteúdo teórico e teórico-prático em situação remota, os tornando aptos para interpretações e resoluções de casos clínicos hipotéticos. A assiduidade e participação das atividades dos discentes foram acompanhadas pelos monitores através da construção do Diário do Monitor. É nesse contexto que a monitoria constitui uma experiência expansiva, a qual oportuniza o discente-monitor a entrar em contato com realidades virtuais e intervenções acadêmicas que auxilia a formar os discentes do módulo curricular em questão.
