Results: There were 49 patients included in the study. Of those, 94% were male, 57% were Caucasian, and 35% African-American. Mean age was 59 +/-9.8. 90% of patients had hypertension, 61% had diabetes mellitus and 57% had coronary artery disease. Baseline LDL-C was 171.6 +/-55.7 mg/dL. LDL-C after low dose statin decreased by 22% (135.1 +/-47.5 mg/dL), with a mean time between baseline and initial follow up of 87 +/ -50 days. Six patients discontinued drug, with the most common ADR being myalgia. The most used statin was rosuvastatin (mean dose 17 mg/weekly).
