Algunas obras pertenecientes a la narrativa española contemporánea hacen entrar en diálogo distintos géneros y medios. Esto permite expandir los límites de la literatura buscando nuevas formas de narrar. Teniendo en cuenta la particular relación entre memoria y literatura a partir del hibridismo anteriormente mencionado es que el objetivo del presente trabajo fue analizar obras que tienen como denominador común un nuevo modo de contar historias sobre la Guerra Civil Española: El vano ayer (2004) de Isaac Rosa y Mala gente que camina (2006) de Benjamín Prado, en relación con Soldados de Salamina (2001) de Javier Cercas, que formó parte de un proyecto anterior. La diversidad de soportes y registros que se combinan en dichas novelas no es exclusiva del corpus recortado y suscita en la teoría contemporánea la emergencia del concepto de “intermedialidad”, categoría que aquí se incorpora a partir de su articulación con la de “montaje”, con el fin de con el fin de caracterizar el particular modo de relacionarse la literatura con la representación del pasado reciente en la novela actual.
La novela contemporánea se caracteriza por un hibridismo que torna difusos los límites entre los distintos géneros y medios (Gómez Trueba, 2007). La narrativa española actual no es ajena a estas características y teniendo en cuenta la particular relación entre memoria y literatura a partir del hibridismo anteriormente mencionado es que el objetivo del presente trabajo fue analizar tres obras que tienen como denominador común un nuevo modo de contar historias sobre la Guerra Civil Española: Soldados de Salamina (2001) de Javier Cercas, El vano ayer (2004) de Isaac Rosa y Mala gente que camina (2006) de Benjamín Prado. Estas obras fueron confeccionadas a través de la combinación de materiales tan diversos como documentos históricos, noticias periodísticas, ensayos, documentales televisivos, entre otros. Esta diversidad de soportes y registros, que no es exclusiva del corpus recortado, es la que suscita en la teoría contemporánea la emergencia del concepto de “intermedialidad”, categoría que aquí se incorpora a partir de su articulación con la de “montaje”, con el fin de con el fin de caracterizar el particular modo de relacionarse la literatura con la representación del pasado reciente en la novela actual.
