An improved collision detection algorithm based on AABB is presented. During the global search, each axis is cut into a series of segments containing the same number of AABBs' projection intervals, and Shell sort is adopted to sort projection lists, not insertion sort. This will avoid needless intersecting test of AABB. During the local detection, the amount of byte of AABB bounding-volume for internal node is reduced according to the constructing process of AABB tree, and leaf nodes are wiped from tree structure The storage of AABB tree is compressed. This method can save a large amount of space and speed up the algorithm. Experiments indicate that the improved algorithm reduce detection time for the same models.
To make full use of the newly available information provided by the intelligent transportation system (ITS), we presented a new car-following model applicable to automated driving control, which will be realized in the near future along with the rapid development of ITS. In this model, the backward-looking effect and the information inputs from multiple leading cars in traffic flow are considered at the same time. The linear stability criterion of this model is obtained using linear stability theory. Furthermore, the nonlinear analysis method is employed to derive the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation, whose kink-antikink soliton solution is then used to describe the occurrence of traffic jamming transitions. The numerical simulation of the presented model is carried out. Both the analytical analysis and numerical simulation show that the traffic jam is suppressed efficiently by just considering the information of two leading cars and a following one.
In a heterogeneous network environment, constructing applications of remote distributed intelligent transportation system (ITS) are faced with complex communication problems proposed by online management, data acquisition and the coordination control of traffic node devices. Therefore, a framework based on SIP/ZigBee architecture is proposed. By using SIP and its extensions, a seamless convergence of traffic measurement and control network between the Internet and a short-range wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSAN) can be achieved. The application result shows that various remote communications and control operations of ITS distributed nodes can be unified and simplified.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
