A simulation scheme was developed to explore the light distribution of full-color micro scale LED arrays. We investigated the influence of substrate thickness on emitting efficiency, color variation and visual appearance. The result shows that the substrate thickness affects the light output distribution. The angular color variation of micro LED arrays with substrate can be reduced by almost 73% than the micro LED arrays without substrate. The emitting efficiency also increases by more than 61%. The experimental verification was conducted to compare the simulation result of 225mx125m mini LED with substrate 90m thickness, and the result shows good consistency.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
