In order to achieve the optimal overall utilization of biogas resources and wind energy, this paper proposes a wind/biogas integration system for power generation and gas supply. In the integration system, less wind power is used to heat the biogas pool to raise and keep the fermentation temperature, while most wind power combining with biogas power are directly supplied for users. The integration system overcomes the difficulties involving low fermentation temperature of biogas production and uncertainty and fluctuation of wind power in the large-scale utilization. By adopting the innovative technologies, including low-cost and high-efficiency fixed-pitch variable-speed wind turbine, high-efficiency biogas pool with heat pumps using wind power and integrative intelligent control system, it is expected to make 20~30% cost saving of wind power and 2 times increase of biogas output over conventional technologies. The integration system will independently provide a stable power source and daily gas for small towns, large-scale farms, remote areas, islands, farmers and villages, and it reveals a broad application prospect.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
