Vorwort Das Dopingproblem zeigt-wie durch ein Brennglas-eine Fülle gesellschaftlicher Probleme, verdichtet in der Inszenierung des Sports. Deshalb geht es beim Doping zwar um Sport, keineswegs aber nur um Sport. Nicht allein die Sportberichterstattung befasst sich mit Doping. In der Enhancement-Debatte, in der es vordergründig ebenfalls um Leistungsverbesserung geht, spielen dieselben oder ähnliche Argumente eine Rolle, wie jene, die zur Doping-Ächtung führen. Allerdings häufig mit liberalen Schlussfolgerungen. Doping und Enhancement sind verwandte Phänomene. Doping signalisiert daher ein gesellschaftliches Problem. Der vorliegende Band fasst einige Resultate zusammen, die in einem transdisziplinären Forschungsprojekt entstanden sind: »Translating Doping-Doping übersetzen« ist ein durch das BMBF gefördertes Verbundprojekt, das beabsichtigt, durch die Anwendung spezifisch geisteswissenschaftlicher Übersetzungskompetenzen, insbesondere der Philosophie, Geschichte, Soziologie und Pädagogik, die relevanten naturwissenschaftlichen Wissensbestände zum Doping in ein gesellschaftlich relevantes, abfragbares und verwertbares Wissen zu transformieren. Bei diesem Projekt arbeiten das Institut für Philosophie, Literatur-, Wissenschafts-und Technikgeschichte der Technischen Universität Berlin mit dem Institut für Sportwissenschaft der Humboldt Universität Berlin zusammen. Um dem Leser die Orientierung in dem Problemfeld zu erleichtern, haben wir uns für ein gemeinsames Literaturverzeichnis entschieden, das am Ende des Bandes zu finden ist. In den Beiträgen weisen daher Kurztitel auf die detaillierten Angaben im Literaturverzeichnis hin. Mein Dank gilt an dieser Stelle allen Mitwirkenden, besonders den Beiträgern die Ihre Texte für den Band zur Verfügung gestellt und mit Hochdruck für deren Veröffentlichung gearbeitet haben. Dem Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung sind alle Beteiligten zu Dank verpflichtet: Die gute Ausstattung des Projekts ermöglichte auch die zügige Veröffentlichung dieses Bandes. Für umfangreiche Korrekturen und die Erstellung des Literaturverzeichnisses danke ich herzlich Eva Schneider und Simon Gabriel Neuffer.
