Dans une recherche sur l’activité décisionnelle des médecins régulateurs des samu centre 15, l’intérêt de coupler données objectives et points de vue du sujet permet de faire émerger les non-dits sous-jacents à cette activité : par le recours à des entretiens d’explicitation, le médecin décrit son agir que le chercheur peut confronter au dire recueilli sur la bande audio lors de son échange avec l’appelant en situation d’urgence. Deux études de cas, paradigmatiques des rapports à la mort, mettent en évidence diverses catégories de non-dits : ce qui est tu, ce qui est occulté ou oublié, ce qui n’est pas perçu et reste subliminaire, ce qui n’est pas présent à la conscience mais agit inconsciemment dans cette situation intersubjective de l’appel d’urgence. La condition d’émergence à la conscience de ce travail du négatif réside dans la coconstruction d’une intersubjectivité.
La déritualisation contemporaine, corrélative d'un agir social de plus en plus individualisé, met en évidence la fragilisation du lien social au sein des établissements scolaires. Aussi, des dispositifs d'accueil ou d'accompagnement, qui peuvent être interprétés comme ersatz de rituels, sont instaurés. Ils sont autant de médiations, qui donneraient aux établissements une assise de repères stables, facilitant l'inscription de chacun dans le collectif de travail. À cette conception statique du rituel qui ancre les conduites individuelles dans un institué social s'oppose une conception dynamique des processus de ritualisation où se mettent en place habitus, comportements attendus, prise de rôles à partir d'un cadre. Deux propriétés sont essentielles à de tels processus : capacité mimétique et performativité. La structure paradoxale de ce nouveau paradigme en fait son caractère dynamique, en articulant permanence et changement, évolution malgré et grâce à la stabilité de repères fixes.
