Parce que les politiques linguistiques présentent un intérêt non négligeable pour les lecteurs de Mots, comme l'atteste l'existence d'une livraison sur ce thème (Boutet et al. éd., 1997), il leur sera certainement profitable de compulser un important volume sur l'enseignement bilingue en France, dont la parution en 2016 ne semble pas avoir bénéficié d'un écho suffisant. L'ouvrage, intitulé L'éducation bilingue en France, a paru à une période assez productive sur le sujet, depuis le numéro contemporain de Langage et société dédié aux pratiques des langues de France (Boutet éd., 2016) jusqu'au plus récent « Multilinguisme » de la Revue française de linguistique appliquée (Collectif, 2018). Il est appelé à faire date, au même titre que l'indispensable Histoire sociale des langues de France dirigée par Georg Kremnitz (2013), car la cinquantaine de contributions regroupées par Jürgen Erfurt et Christine Hélot en six parties méritent amplement leur place dans la littérature de référence que consulte quiconque s'occupe de glottopolitique.2 En l'espèce, l'ouvrage ne se présente aucunement comme un recueil de techniques éprouvées et, quand celles-ci sont éventuellement abordées, les questions d'ingénierie didactique passent très nettement au second plan par rapport au coeur même du projet
