Coating using magnetically enhanced plasma deposition gives smooth diamond-like carbon films that increase hardness and wear resistance of nanostructures.
We describe a new protective laminating film for optical display applications. This film, based on UV-curable acrylate chemistry, is prepared by combining abrasion-resistant hardcoat technology with low-surface-energy fluorochemical coatings. The resulting construction shows excellent optical properties, and the fluorochemical surface allows oily contaminants such as inks and fingerprints to be easily removed simply by dry wiping. The film's chemistry and characterization are discussed, along with data on optical properties and environmental stability. .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
