A novel asymmetric nucleophilic epoxidation for α-ylideneoxindole esters has been successfully devised, resulting in enantioenriched spiro compounds with two new contiguous stereocenters. The employed (S)-α,α-diphenylprolinol functions as a bifunctional catalyst, creating a complex H-bond network in conjunction with a substrate and an oxidant.
A highly enantioselective kinetic resolution of diols via asymmetric acetalization has been achieved using a chiral confined imidodiphosphoric acid catalyst. The reaction is highly efficient for the resolution of tertiary alcohols, giving selectivity factors of up to >300. Remarkably, even in cases where the selectivity factors are only moderate, highly enantioenriched diols are obtained via a stereodivergent resolution to diastereomeric acetals.
Our results show that the use of dexamethasone as an antiemetic drug for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting does not interfere with reversal of neuromuscular blockade with sugammadex in patients undergoing elective surgery with general anesthesia in contrast to in vitro studies that support this hypothesis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
