the beam-foil facilities in Bochum which allow consistent Following an earlier observation in F VI we identified the line pair ls2s2p2 SP-ls2s2p3d 'Po, for the elements N, 0, Mg, and tentatively for A1 and Si in beam-foil spectra. Assignment was established by comparison with Multi-Configuration Dirac-Fock calculations along the isoelectronic sequence. Using this method we also identified some quartet lines of lithiumlike ions with Z > 10.
A stack of Makrofol-N (Bayer Co., Germany) plastic track detectors has been exposed to a well collimated beam of 238 U ions with initial energy of 16.34 MeV/n at UNILAC, Darmstadt (Germany). The effect of etching temperature on the etching characteristics of some solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTDs) has been investigated for the registration of 238 U ion tracks. An empirical relation between the etching temperature and the various etch rates has been established from the experimental data. A correlation between track etch rate V T and energy loss rate (dE /dX ) has been established which provides us with an understanding of the mechanism of track formation. The maximum etched lengths of 238 U ions have been experimentally measured using Makrofol-N track detectors. The corrected track lengths have been compared with the theoretical energy range calculations and are found to conform to them reasonably well.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
