It is shown that, in the bound state picture, the Λ c (2593) → Λ c γ and Λ c (2625) → Λ c γ decays are severely suppressed. On the other hand, for their bottom counterparts, which are predicted to have masses 5900 and 5926MeV respectively, may have significant radiative branching ratio. In particular, the Λ b (5926) → Λ b γ mode may even dominate over the strong decay mode. The isospin allowed Λ * * Q → Σ Q γ mode is expected to be small.
The spectrum of excited Λ Q -type heavy baryons is considered in the large N c limit. The universal form factors for Λ b semileptonic decay to excited charmed baryons are calculated in the large N c limit. We find that the Bjorken sum rule (for the slope of the Isgur-Wise function) and Voloshin sum rule (for the mass of the light degrees of freedom) are saturated by the first doublet of excited Λ Q states.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
