This paper presents delay spread, coherence bandwidth, and angle-of-arrival statistics derived from an extensive MIMO channel measurement campaign carried out at a central frequency of 2.6GHz. The measurement scenarios include indoor-indoor, indoor-outdoor and indoor-outdoorindoor. The results are useful for analytical and performance studies of post-3G wireless communication systems such as femtocell design and deployment.
This Letter reports acoustic-resolution-photoacoustic microscopy (AR-PAM) based on a new optically transparent focused polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) transducer with a high acoustic numerical aperture (NA) of 0.64. Owing to the improved fabrication process, the new transducer has a much higher NA (0.64) than the previously reported low-NA transducer (

). The acoustic center frequency and (pulse-echo) bandwidth are also increased to 36 and 44 MHz, respectively, which provides a 38 µm acoustic focal spot size and 210 µm acoustic depth of focus. For demonstration, AR-PAM was conducted on a twisted wire target in water and chicken breast tissue, and in vivo on a mouse tail. The imaging results show that high acoustic resolution and sensitivity can be achieved with a simple and compact setup to resolve the target at different depths. Such capabilities can be useful for the development of new AR-PAM systems for handheld, wearable, and even endoscopic imaging applications.
According to the current situation of acicular chip and high-frequency chattering of the NC rotary table while gear milling, rigidity and damping performances of the table were analyzed and the damping program of Coulomb friction was bring up. Online test of the gear milling cutting force can be used to establish dynamic model of circumferential vibration of the table with Coulomb friction. Then mechanism of restraining gear cutting chatter by damping of Coulomb friction and acicular chip generating mechanism were exposed. Furthermore, relationship between backlash and rotary rigidity of the table was also analyzed. A kind of floating apparatus with friction damping was designed to optimize circumferential damping of the table by adjusting Coulomb friction force, which reduces the influence of high-frequency chattering on gear milling. As a result, efficiency of gear milling was increased 1.5 times and the noise was reduced from 105dB to 91dB.
-A polarisation diversity combing scheme for dualpolarised Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output channels in small cell environments introduced and evaluated. The scheme is based on post analysis of channel measurement data captured from scenarios and includes indoor-to-indoor, indoor-to-outdoor, and indoor-outdoorindoor propagation. An analysis of link signal strength and correlation with respect to frequency and polarisation revealed profound differences between co-polarised and cross-polarised links in terms of received signal strength and correlation between frequencies. Utilising these differences, a polarisation diversity combing scheme is evaluated which is shown to produce an average of 10.6dB polarisation diversity gain.
This paper reports the development of a new charge amplification approach for photoacoustic tomography (PAT) based on parallel acoustic delay line (PADL) arrays. By using a PADL array to create different time delays, multiple-channel PA signals can be received simultaneously with a single-element transducer followed by single-channel DAQ electronics for image reconstruction. Unlike the conventional voltage amplifiers whose output voltage drops with increasing transducer capacitance, both theoretical analysis and experimental results have shown that the charge amplification can provide almost constant transducer-amplifier gain, which is not affected by the transducer capacitance. Therefore, it allows the use of a large single-element transducer to interface many PADLs without sacrificing the SNR of each channel. This opens the possibility of using large PADL arrays to achieve PAT with a wide field of view and high lateral resolution.
