The frequency of colour blindness among the Jat males is 2.52% in Delhi and 4.53% in the Punjab. The difference between the Jats of the two areas is insignificant. The ratio protan (red blind) to deutan (green blind) type is 1:2.25 among the Jats of the Punjab, while all the affected males in Delhi were of the deutan type. The frequency of colour blindness among the Jats (Delhi and Punjab pooled together) is 3.53%. The protan:deutan ratio is 1:4. None of the females tested were found to be colour blind. The similarity of the Jats with most of the populations in North-Western India for the frequency of colour blindness indicates a considerable homogeneity in this region.
To examine the effects of trait anxiety and induced arousal on two-flash threshold 10 neurotic patients and 10 normal students were tested in aroused (70 dB white noise) and non-aroused conditions. Patients had higher state and trait anxiety than normals. A significant difference in two-flash threshold was observed between the groups during non-arousal only.
Two different potato based ready-to-eat (RTE) snacks were prepared using high temperature short time (HTST) air puffing followed by oven toasting and evaluated for its nutritional changes that took place during high temperature short time air puffing and oven toasting process. The nutritional composition of initial samples before puffing and oven toasting and final products were measured in terms of moisture content (% db), protein (%), fat (%), ash (%), crude fiber (%), carbohydrates (%, by difference), ascorbic acid content (mg/100g), nitrogen solubility index (%), protein digestibility (%), trypsin inhibitor activity (%), calorific value (Kcal/100g) and protein energy ratio. Significant increase in protein (56.67%), ash (70.49%), crude fiber (27.2%) and protein energy ratio (63.20%) were recorded in RTE potato-soy snack as compared to RTE potato snack due to addition of soy flour (10.26%) in the product.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
