Un suivi thérapeutique peut également être réalisé en dosant le fibrinogène ou en suivant la persistance de cellules immatures dans la circulation sanguine périphérique ou de la leucocytose. L’échographie est également un examen paraclinique de plus en plus utilisé, augmentant les performances diagnostiques de mise en évidence d’un syndrome inflammatoire au chevet de l’animal. Cependant, en médecine individuelle, l’interprétation de ces biomarqueurs ne peut pas être dissociée ou substituée à l’examen clinique.
