Level shifts and mixings away from exact exchange degeneracy are examined with respect to the "Asymptotic Planarity" predictions of Chew and Rosensweig. It is found that the data in the J = 0-, 1-, and 2 multiplets support neither the general shape nor the special relation proposed by Chew and Rosenzweig for the tensor and vector "cylinder" corrections.
