The energy-saving potential of the demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) has been highlighted in several literatures these years, there are still some important questions related to the implementation of CO 2 -based DCV. One of the most critical issues is that low CO 2 levels alone do not guarantee acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ). In this paper, a simulation model was built to study the on-line control strategy of fresh air to meet the requirement of IAQ in office buildings. The control strategy is proposed to provide reasonable guidelines to determine fresh air rate to dilute the pollutants generated by human and non-human factors. The simulation results show the strategy can maintain acceptable IAQ and improve energy efficiency apparently.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
