The aim of this study was investigate the effect on life quality (QOL) of urinary ıncontinence (UI) according to trimesters in pregnancy. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted between the study was conducted between the 2017-2018 year and a total of 195 pregnant women with UI, 75 of which were from second trimester and 120 of third trimester were included in the study. Data were collected by Personal Information Form, Urinary Incontinence Questionnaire Short Form (ICIQ-SF) and Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire (I-QOL). Results: In second and third trimesters, most common situation was UI while coughing / sneezing (80-69.2%), and then not being able to reach the toilet (24-34.2%). Total QOL scores were 79.45 ± 15.80 in the second trimester and 79.81 ± 16.92 in third trimester. A significant difference was found between the frequency and amount of UI and QOL scores in both trimesters of pregnant women. There was a statistically significant difference between QOL scores and UI situations that after miction in the second trimester and during motion in the third trimester. Conclusion: Pregnants experience UI while coughing / sneezing more frequently in both trimesters. UI negatively affects the QOL of pregnant women compared to trimesters. As the frequency and amount of UI increases, the quality of life of pregnant women deteriorates further due to UI in both trimesters. Nurses should aware that pregnancy is risky period in terms of UI, should raise awareness and apply nursing approaches to prevent UI.
