Let G be a solvable group and let (G) be the character degree graph of G. The vertices of (G) are the primes dividing character degrees of G and there is an edge between two primes if they divide a common character degree of G. In this paper, we show that the Taketa inequality dl(G) ≤ | cd(G)| holds when G is a solvable group whose degree graph (G) has diameter 3.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
