La contribution de Caterina Borelli a un statut particulier. Il ne s'agit pas d'un article scientifique, mais d'un travail artistique, montré pour la première fois dans le cadre de ce dossier. Caterina Borelli travaille depuis de nombreuses années, les images en mouvement, la vidéo, le cinéma expérimental, la télévision ou le documentaire, notamment aux États-Unis où elle a vécu pendant de très nombreuses années. Elle expérimente aujourd'hui l'image fixe et manipulée, les photomontages. Conçus depuis 2019, ces photomontages sont nommés « bodies of architecture », et c'est exactement ce qu'elles montrent, des hybrides entre des corps et des architectures.Comme les avant-gardes, notamment les dadaïstes, les fragments des images proviennent de magazines, aujourd'hui distribués dans des hôtels, par des compagnies aériennes, dans la presse populaire. Parfois, Caterina Borelli utilise ses propres photographies. Les photomontages montrent des villes complexes, des bâtiments anciens, vernaculaires, des architectures des années 40 et 50 qui s'entrechoquent. Dans ce chaos se juxtaposent des personnages, flottants, sans visages et parfois même sans corps. Même si on les devine lisses, indifférents, issus de publicités, ils sont envahis par la ville, il ne reste que des silhouettes. Ces heurts peuvent être compris comme une critique sociétale, urbaine et architecturale, car la rencontre entre la ville qui couvre toute la surface de l'image et l'humain se passe au détriment de ce dernier, il se déshumanise. Dans ce sens, non seulement la technique rappelle Hannah Höch (voir Introduction), mais Caterina Borelli pose sans cesse la question de la place de l'humain envahie par son entourage. Si ces collisions l'approchent de Höch, Caterina Borelli ajoute différentes échelles, qui, quant à elles, rappellent les photomontages géants de Charlotte Perriand (voir l'introduction). D'une hauteur de 1,50 mètre, plusieurs photomontages s'empilent, s'emboitent et leurs hiérarchies disparaissent. Le spectateur est immergé, à échelle 1 : 1, face aux personnages engloutis par le monde bâti .
