Neste livro, as autoras tem como objetivo sensibilizar pesquisadores e futuros pesquisadores (estudantes de pós-graduação e de graduação) sobre a importância de manter um diálogo com a sociedade acerca de temas de ciência, tecnologia e saúde e oferecem ferramentas práticas de como fazer ações de divulgação científica.
Resumo: Apesar de as crianças serem apontadas como o grupo menos afetado pelos sintomas da COVID-19, embora não ileso à doença e suas formas graves, seu cotidiano foi afetado de várias formas, incluindo a interrupção da vida escolar presencial e o contato com colegas de aula, além de impactos relacionados ao isolamento social e, em muitos casos, problemas financeiros e de saúde enfrentados por familiares. Neste trabalho, temos como objetivo compreender a percepção de crianças cariocas sobre o SARS-CoV-2, a COVID-19 e os vírus em geral, por meio de um estudo qualitativo. Entrevistamos 20 crianças por meio de plataformas de serviços de conferência. Os resultados indicam que elas estão conscientes dos riscos e cuidados necessários para a prevenção do coronavírus, mostrando-se apreensivas, com medo de pegar a doença e passar para os seus familiares. Quanto aos vírus em geral, observamos que suas percepções são relacionadas diretamente ao coronavírus, isto é, à situação com que estão lidando atualmente. O estudo traz subsídios que podem ajudar na concepção de estratégias de divulgação científica.
Resumo Como os adultos, as crianças tiveram suas relações sociais e rotinas alteradas pela pandemia e são atores sociais fundamentais para se compreender as transformações causadas por essa condição sanitária que afetou o planeta, construindo representações e narrativas próprias. No entanto, poucos estudos de percepção da pandemia focam nas crianças. A fim de analisar a percepção das crianças cariocas sobre a pandemia de covid-19, entrevistamos 20 crianças entre oito e dez anos, moradoras do município do Rio de Janeiro, por meio de plataformas virtuais, utilizando a técnica de desenho comentado. Neste artigo, analisamos em particular os desenhos e as narrativas associadas a eles, definindo as seguintes categorias de análise: rotina; sentimentos durante a pandemia; representação do vírus e novos hábitos. No geral, as crianças retrataram as etapas do seu dia a dia, incluindo as brincadeiras, o uso de eletrônicos e as aulas on-line, bem como as estratégias de enfrentamento do coronavírus usadas em seu entorno familiar e seus sentimentos. As crianças demonstram tanto cautela com a pandemia, indicando ter consciência da importância do distanciamento social, do uso de máscara e da higiene pessoal para o enfrentamento da covid-19, quanto preocupação, medo e até raiva do vírus.
