This literature Review had the purpose of inspecting how the use of active learning methodologies in higher education can impact students’ Well-being. Considering the Heads of State meeting at United Nations Headquarters on September 2015, in which the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations Member states, this literature review is limbered to the time period between September 2015 and September 2021. A Previous research focused on reviews was made to support the conceptual framework. The search was done in two databases - Web of Science main collection and Scopus - by two researchers autonomously, using the following search criteria: “higher education AND active learning AND student AND wellness OR well-being OR wellbeing.” The studies section attended the following inclusion criteria: (i) published in peer-reviewed journals; (ii) empirical studies; (iii) written in English, French, Portuguese or Spanish; (iv) open access full text; (v) Higher education context; and (vi) focused on the topic under study. The search provided 10 articles which were submitted to an inductive thematic analysis attending to the purpose of this review, resulting in two themes: (i) students’ well-being during confinement; (ii) methodological solutions for students’ well-being. Data show that the use of active methodologies, as digital technologies, and the incorporation of some practice as physical activity and volunteering seems to benefit students’ well-being, namely in their academic achievement, physical, emotional, and social life, and empower them to the professional future with multi-competencies. Higher education institutions need to understand the value of active learning methodologies in sustained education and promote them in their practices.

Teachers’ professional identity shapes teachers’ educational views, impacting their behaviour, action and decision making. This study was designed with the goal of locating, compiling and analysing articles regarding professional identity in the physical education context and identifying elements that contribute to professional identity construction. We selected professional identity and physical education as search items in Web of Science, ERIC, SPORTDiscuss and Scopus. To investigate the previous decade of research, we limited the study to articles published between 2010 and 2020. This work combines recent publications written in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The database search yielded 27 relevant articles. The themes present in the articles can be divided into two groups: those linked to key actors and influences on physical education teachers’ professional identity, and those related to physical education preservice teachers. The following themes were discovered to influence teachers’ professional identity formation: relationships (established within their acting context), identity negotiation, identity transformation, lifelong learning, peer perception and the class context. The following themes impact preservice teachers’ professional identity formation: teaching practicum experience, prior experiences, a community of practice and the teachers’ body. Professional identity formation is an intricate process characterised by a diverse mix of personal, professional, environmental and social representations that interact in real time.

RESUMO Objetivo: descrever e analisar o conhecimento de discentes da área da saúde sobre higiene das mãos e a prevenção e transmissão do vírus influenza. Método: estudo transversal conduzido em discentes de dois campus de formação na área da saúde do Instituto Federal de Goiás, realizado nos meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2017. Foram atribuídos escores para avaliação do nível de conhecimento em relação a higiene das mãos (componente 1), prevenção e transmissão do vírus influenza (componente 2) e ambos os componentes (componente global). Resultados: participaram da pesquisa 262 discentes. Foi encontrado maior percentual de erro nos questionamentos envolvendo transmissão do vírus influenza, compartilhamento de objetos de uso pessoal e manutenção de ambientes ventilados. O estudo evidenciou ainda falhas no conhecimento referente à higiene das mãos, momentos preconizados para sua realização, e alguns aspectos da técnica. Os escores médios de conhecimento foram de 83,9% (IC 95%: 82,6 a 85,2), 86,2% (IC 95%: 84,4-87,9) e 82,8% (IC 95%: 81,3-84,2) para os componentes 1, componente 2 e componente global, respectivamente. Conclusão: o estudo identificou lacunas no conhecimento dos discentes sobre a higiene das mãos, prevenção e transmissão do vírus influenza, apontando para a importância da abordagem dos conteúdos na prática de ensino e formação de futuros profissionais de saúde.

A well-known Squaramide-Cinchonine organocatalyst was immobilized in a controlled way onto three types of commercial porous glass beads EziGTM (EziG OPAL, EziG Amber and EziG Coral) and applied in asymmetric Michael reactions. The performance of the immobilized catalysts was evaluated under batch and continuous flow conditions showing promising results in both approaches. In batch reactions, 0.8 and 1.6 mol% of the immobilized cinchonine-squaramide provided the products with excellent yields (up to 99%) and enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee). These excellent results were also verified in the case of continuous flow reactions, where also 0.8 and 1.6 mol% of the catalyst immobilized onto the glass beads afforded the product with extraordinary yields (up to 99%) and very high enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee). The immobilized catalysts could be recycled (up to 7 cycles) using both approaches.
