Homodinuclear coordinative compound of Co(II) with terephthalate bridge and o-phenanthroline has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis. The crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The coordinative compound was immobilized into functionalized silica with thiol groups and tested for its catalytic activity towards styrene oxidation in the presence of H2O2. A conversion of 89.75 % and selectivity of 85.4 % for benzaldehyde formation was obtained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
