El objetivo de este estudio es el entendimiento del impacto que tiene la pandemia de Covid-19 en la salud mental de estudiantes y profesores de escuelas de negocios en México, mediante la evaluación de las variables: depresión, ansiedad, insomnio, impacto del evento Covid-19 y agotamiento. Para este propósito, se realizó un estudio longitudinal con 834 participantes (161 profesores y 673 estudiantes), se calcularon las correlaciones entre las variables de estudio, un análisis de frecuencias y posteriormente un análisis de varianza teniendo como variable independiente a la presencia o no de la pandemia -inicio y final del curso-, como variable moderadora, el tipo de participante -estudiante o profesor- y la variable dependiente, la variable relacionada con la salud mental en cuestión. Las conclusiones indican que hay un impacto en la salud mental de los participantes derivado de la pandemia de Covid-19 y que éste es diferente estudiantes y profesores, siendo estos últimos los más afectados en su salud mental por los efectos de la pandemia Covid-19.
En este trabajo se estudió la relación que existe entre las promociones de precios y la toma de decisiones de compra del consumidor para una muestra de 258 de participantes que compraron bienes de consumo duradero en tiendas departamentales en la Ciudad de México, con y sin promociones de precios. En la investigación se empleó el análisis de asociación mediante tablas de contingencia y el análisis de varianza, que sirvieron para identificar el perfil del comprador de productos con promoción de precios, encontrando que el consumidor de bienes duraderos que es más sensible al precio es quien compra productos en promoción, además de que las mujeres y las personas con menor nivel de ingresos son los segmentos poblacionales que compran en mayor proporción bienes con promoción de precios. Asimismo, se encontró que los consumidores que compran productos con promoción son los que mejor conocen y recuerdan los precios de los artículos adquiridos. Los hallazgos de este trabajo pueden aplicarse en las empresas comercializadoras de bienes duraderos con venta al detalle, para hacer más efectiva la venta de productos en promoción, dirigiendo la comunicación a los grupos susceptibles a comprar con promociones de precios y, por otra parte, puede tomarse como referencia para investigar el comportamiento del consumidor con otro tipo de bienes y canales de compra.
Esta investigación se realizó a 473 vendedores en el canal de venta al detalle en tiendas de la esquina, en la Ciudad de México y su área metropolitana. En el estudio se examinó la relación entre los estresores de rol –sobrecarga, conflicto y ambigüedad de rol–, engagement y satisfacción laboral tomando como referencia el modelo de demandas-recursos laborales. Este modelo plantea que las demandas laborales, que para este estudio se perfilan como los estresores de rol, sostienen una relación negativa con la satisfacción laboral y el engagement. Asimismo, que éste puede actuar como mediador entre los estresores de rol y la satisfacción laboral. Los resultados de la investigación corroboraron la relación inversa entre los estresores de rol y la satisfacción laboral. Adicionalmente, se identificó la mediación del engagement entre los estresores de rol y la satisfacción laboral. Derivado del estudio se planteó que el estrés de rol tiene un papel de demanda obstaculizadora y que, en el trabajo, se ubicó como una demanda desafiante para los colaboradores y su desempeño en el trabajo.
El objetivo de este estudio se orienta hacia el entendimiento de las relaciones entre la adicción al trabajo, el capital psicológico y el burnout (desgaste por trabajo) en una muestra de trabajadores mexicanos en profesiones con tendencias adictivas al trabajo, buscando identificar si el capital psicológico —aplicación de las fortalezas del colaborador para afrontar las demandas laborales a las que se ve sometido—, media entre las otras dos variables. Para este propósito, se realizó un estudio transeccional en el que se calcularon las correlaciones de Spearman entre las variables de estudio y posteriormente se efectuó un análisis de mediación, cuya variable independiente fue la adicción al trabajo; la variable mediadora, el capital psicológico; y la variable dependiente, las tres dimensiones del constructo burnout que son: desgaste emocional, despersonalización y reducción de la eficacia personal. Para realizar el análisis de mediación se empleó la macro PROCESS, aplicada en el software SPSS versión 20. Para el estudio se integró una muestra de 322 participantes de profesiones con afinidad hacia la adicción al trabajo, en la Ciudad de México. Los hallazgos del estudio indican una correlación fuerte y positiva (r = + 0.65) entre la adicción al trabajo y el burnout; así como correlaciones moderadas y negativas entre la adicción al trabajo y el capital psicológico (r = -0.49), por una parte, y entre el capital psicológico y el burnout (r = -0.46) por otra. Estos resultados coinciden con los de otros estudios sobre Estados Unidos, China y Ghana. En cuanto al análisis de mediación, pudo corroborarse que el capital psicológico media parcialmente entre la adicción al trabajo y cada dimensión del constructo burnout: porcentaje del efecto indirecto sobre el efecto total para desgaste emocional, 36.2 %; despersonalización 37.9 % y reducción de la eficacia personal, 31.7 %.
