O presente trabalho tem como objetivo relacionar o uso e ocupação da terra com a qualidade das águas superficiais da Sub-bacia Hidrográfica Cabosol, Guarulhos (SP) utilizando indicadores de qualidade de água: Índice de Qualidade de Água – IQA e Índice de Estado Trófico – IET. Para avaliar a qualidade da água ao longo da sub-bacia foram selecionados cinco pontos de coleta (P1 a P5), cuja escolha fundamentou-se considerando a amplitude da superfície de drenagem, na ocorrência de regiões diferentes quanto ao uso e ocupação da terra e na facilidade de acesso aos pontos. Foram realizadas cinco coletas bimestrais compreendendo dois períodos sazonais, chuvoso e seco, entre setembro de 2017 e julho de 2018. A área de estudo apresentou características de bacia rural, identificando-se cinco classes de uso e ocupação da terra. O índice de qualidade de água – IQA, apresentou resultados classificados entre ótimo e bom, notando-se queda de qualidade ao longo da sub bacia. O índice de estado trófico – IET apresentou seus piores resultados em regiões com maior influência antrópica. Apesar das boas classificações da qualidade da água obtidas através do IQA e IET, o decréscimo destes índices ao longo da área estudada é provocado pela incidência das atividades antrópicas que avançam sobre a sub-bacia, em especial a construção do Rodoanel Mario Covas.
