Objetivo: Avaliar a percepção dos estudantes de medicina acerca da doação e do transplante de órgãos e tecidos. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, com análise quantitativa, que avaliou discentes do 1o ao 12o semestre da Faculdade de Medicina da Bahia da Universidade Federal da Bahia(FMB/UFBA), agrupados por ano de graduação (1o ao 6o ano), através de um questionário. Os dados foram analisados estatisticamente, considerando- se valores significantes de p ≤ 0,05. Resultados: Dos 393 participantes, 207 (52,7%) eram do sexo feminino, 250 (63,3%) tinham entre 21 e 25 anos, 144 (36,6%) não possuíam religião e 80 (20,3%) estavam inseridos no internato. De todos os entrevistados, 159 (40,5%) autoavaliaram seu conhecimento como regular e 153 (38,8%) como ruim e péssimo. Sobre a exposição ao assunto, 222 (56,6%) nunca tinham assistido aula e, entre aqueles que assistiram, 187 (60,1%) avaliaram as informações como insuficientes. Um total de 324 alunos (82,4%) teriam a intenção de ser um doador post-mortem e 42 (61,6%) aceitariam participar de um transplante intervivo, embora 245 (62,3%) afirmaram não conhecer os riscos. Entre os discentes, 327 (83,2%) dizem conhecer o conceito de morte encefálica, 119 (30,3%) os termos legais da doação e 105 (26,7%) as medidas de manutenção do doador. Porém 72 (18,3%) disseram ter um bom conhecimento sobre como diagnosticar a morte encefálica. Um total de 275 (70%) acertou o que é necessário para se declarar um doador. Houve 359 respostas que excluiriam alcoólatras, tabagistas e usuários de drogas ilícitas da lista de transplante e 363 (92,7%) consideram que a gravidade do problema é o critério mais adequado paraprioridade na lista de espera. Conclusão: Os estudantes percebem seu nível de conhecimento como insatisfatório e a compreensão sobre questões específicas ainda é baixa. Não foi observada uma influência significativa dos aspectos sociodemográficos em relação ao desejo de ser um doador.

Resultados: De los 393 participantes, 207 (52,7%) eran mujeres, 250 (63,3%) tenían entre 21 y 25 años, 144 (36,6%) no tenían religión y 80 (20,3%) eran estudiantes internos. Del total de entrevistados, 159 (40,5%) autoevaluaron sus conocimientos como regulares y 153 (38,8%) como malos y pésimos. Sobre la exposición al tema, 222 (56,6%) nunca habían asistido a una clase y entre los que sí, 187 (60,1%) evaluaron la información como insuficiente. Un total de 324 estudiantes (82,4%) tendrían la intención de ser donante post mortem y 42 (61,6%) aceptarían participar en un trasplante intervivo, aunque 245 (62,3%) dijeron desconocer los riesgos. Entre los estudiantes, 327 (83,2%) dijeron conocer el concepto de muerte encefálica, 119 (30,3%) los términos legales de la donación y 105 (26,7%) las medidas de mantenimiento del donante. Sin embargo, 72 (18,3%) dijeron tener un buen conocimiento de cómo diagnosticar la muerte encefálica. Un total de 275 (70%) acertaron lo necesario para declarar donante. Hubo 359 respuestas que excluirían de la lista de trasplante a alcohólicos, fumadores y usuarios de drogas ilícitas, y 363 (92,7%) consideraron que la gravedad del problema es el criterio más adecuado para la prioridad en la lista de espera. Conclusión: los estudiantes perciben su nivel de conocimiento como insatisfactorio y la comprensión sobre temas específicos aún es baja. No se observó una influencia significativa de los aspectos sociodemográficos en el deseo de ser donante.
Resumo: Durante a pandemia da COVID-19 a população foi tomada por quantidades significativas de fake news, as quais prejudicaram a eficiência de meios de prevenção já validados pelos especialistas, como o isolamento social. Dessa forma, este trabalho buscou observar o grau de informação da população da região metropolitana de Salvador/BA acerca da COVID-19. Foi aplicado um questionário online com 25 questões sobre as principais características inerentes à doença e as pontuações obtidas pelos participantes foram classificadas em baixo, médio e alto nível de informação. A amostra foi composta predominantemente de indivíduos soteropolitanos, do sexo feminino e com alto grau de instrução. Observou-se, então, que a maior proporção da população do estudo apresentava conhecimento satisfatório a respeito dos principais aspectos da pandemia da COVID-19. Entretanto, houve maior taxa de erros e respostas marcadas como "não sei" no bloco de questões que abordavam informações gerais sobre o novo Coronavírus. Concluímos, então, que, mesmo tratando-se de uma amostra com elevado nível de escolaridade e bom nível de informação sobre a infecção pelo Sars-Cov-2, ainda há dificuldades relacionadas à informação ou mesmo ao discernimento da veracidade das informações em temas específicos.
