Anthocyanins make up the largest group of water-soluble pigments of the vegetable kingdom. These bio-compounds with antioxidant properties are attracting great interest in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry mainly because of their presence in many fruits and vegetables. The extraction of the pigment is still in need of further studies, especially concerning the extraction yield and the use of friendly solvents. The use of acidulants has shown an alternative to improve the extraction. This work presents the capability of pure solvents and binary mixtures associated with organic acids in the extraction of anthocyanins present in jabuticaba fruit skins and red cabbage leaves. The results suggest that the application of organic acids dissolved in binary mixtures formed by water and ethanol can provide an increase in the extraction of anthocyanins.
Nicotinic acid is an organic component with applications in different industrial processes. Separation, purification, and the development of new products based on this material depend on solid–liquid equilibrium data. The application of mathematical models is useful for the development of solution theories and process simulators. Excess thermodynamic properties are fundamental to evaluate the deviation from ideality present in a solution. Thus, the current work presents the study of solubility and excess solubility of nicotinic acid in binary liquid solutions formed by water + methanol and water + ethanol, covering the entire range of molar composition of the binary liquid mixture at temperatures ranging from 293.15 to 323.15 K. Equilibrium between solid and liquid phases was described by the PC-SAFT and CPA equations of state and the NRTL activity coefficient model. Regarding solubility, the existence of maximum and minimum points were observed indicating a possible solvation effect in both mixtures. Excess solubility calculations also indicate solutions with a high deviation from ideality. All models used have been able to successfully correlate the solubility results.
Power amplifiers (PAs) are electronic devices commonly used in telecommunications that need to transmit information with high energetic efficiency. For this, it is necessary to use data manipulation methods that assist in the linearization of the output signal. Our previous conference paper presented two codes constructed based on the Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) and which differ in their way of selecting the best coefficients to be used in the calculations of the neural network. The first method, called Embracing, assumes greater availability of data, while the second, called Selective, selects information from the beginning of the code. This work extends the previous GMDH models by expanding the PA inputs into Laguerre basis functions with a single real pole. The comparison among the different approaches employs experimental data collected from a GaN HEMT class AB PA and a Si LDMOS class AB. The most selective and computationally more complex structure, when searching for identification since from the first layers, expresses minor errors and the best results in the output for both Conventional and Expanded GMDH models, becoming a reasoned option for use in PAs. A normalized mean square error (NMSE) of -35.44 dB was obtained by Expanded GMDH with Selective algorithm and 5 inputs when using the GaN PA, whereas a NMSE of -40.35 dB was obtained by the Expanded GMDH with Selective algorithm and 4 inputs when calculated with the Si LDMOS PA data.

ABSTRACTThis research discusses the way in which the editorial lines of the magazines Veja and CartaCapital have defined the coverage held during the trial of the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) about the decriminalization of abortion in cases of anencephaly. The goal was to analyze how journalistic discourse exposed the positioning on the topic. The on-line versions of the publications were analyzed, taking into consideration the coverage dynamics, which, although containing traces of a magazine production, still takes on the digital platform environment features. The journalistic texts were comprehended in their discursivity, in other words, how they develop and produce effects of meaning, working from the theoretical-device of Discourse Analysis. The editorial lines guide the discursive process of publications. Veja, which sought a neutral effect, objectivity and erasing journalist as an intermediary, has positioned itself in a contradictory way: recognizing the advance of the woman's choice -only in such cases -but delegitimizing the STF decision. CartaCapital already sought to build the image of questioning and analytical, demonstrating in favor of the achievement of women's reproductive rights.
