El trabajo sexual en las mujeres, se encuentra oscurecido con diversos mitos y estigmas sociales; los que promueven una visión equivocada sobre dicha temática. Por consiguiente, la manera de comprenderlo en nuestro contexto es como aquella profesión más antigua del mundo o considerada también una necesidad social. Según García (1999), el patrimonio cultural expresa la solidaridad de quienes comparten un conjunto de bienes y prácticas que los identifica, pero suele ser también un lugar de complicidad social. Así también, la historia nos ha demostrado que todo puerto ha dejado memorias que acompañan y giran alrededor de un prostíbulo, que para esta investigación es “Tres Cabezas”. Por ello, Arguedas (1971) fue quien relató la utopía respecto a la prostitución en Chimbote, dejando huella en la literatura a través del Zorro de Arriba y el Zorro de Abajo. En ese sentido, si existe un "monumento" a la pesca y el acero, replicados en toda la ciudad, en memoria de lo que fue el “boom” de Chimbote, ¿por qué no tener un monumento al comercio sexual?, rompiendo el estigma socio-patrimonial de no divulgar este centro de encuentro social, y convertirlo en un “lugar emblemático y de desenfreno”, testigo de la liberación social.
