Para caulim ferrítico e cinza volante, foram determinadas Difração de raios-X (DRX), Fluorescência de raios-X (FRX) e Análise Palavras-Chave: Geopolímero, Resistência mecânica, cinza volante, resíduos ABSTRACTThe civil construction sector in the last years is in growing expansion, and the use of Portland cement grows in the same proportion. The intensification of its production generates significant damages to the environment. This work aims to elaborate geopolymers, for the replacement of Portland cement. For that, it will be synthesized geopolymers with different concentrations of rusty kaolin and fly ash, and evaluated the physico-chemical characteristics of these materials of base to verify their functionality. Ten formulations will be developed, being: Formulation A, 100 % ferritic metakalin; Formulation B, 90 % ferritic metakalin, 10 % fly ash; Formulation C, 80 % ferritic metakalin, 20 % fly ash; Formulation D, 60 % ferritic metakalin, 40 % fly ash; Formulation E, 50 % ferritic metakalin, 50 % fly ash. For ferritic kaolin and fly ash, the X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and laser granulometric analysis were determined. For the geopolymers Resistance comprehension test. The results showed that the raw materials used have potential for the geopolymerization reaction, due to the aluminosilicate character, however, for the effective utilization of ferritic kaolin, the calcination process is necessary, 800 ºC for 2 hours for ferritic kaolin was used in this study. Which suggests the development of new studies that use other temperatures and other time intervals, and also vary the molar concentrations. The development of environmentally friendly materials adds value to the industry residues and minerals and the use generates a positive impact on the environment, due to the considerable reduction of its disposal.
