These lines adorned one of the triumphal arches built in honour of Ferdinand of Aragon's ceremonial entry into Valladolid on 5 January 1513. This event, like so many other such entries throughout Europe during the sixteenth century, was intended to recall the Triumphs of the Roman emperors, though it was also embedded in a long-established entry ritual. The ephemeral buildings all'antica, the apparati, street decorations, pageants with allegorical, mythological and historical figures, as well as music and dancing of various kinds all formed part of a royal spectacle devised according to the political process of image-making.

En plena pandemia de la COVID-19, sale a la luz este nuevo número de Ars & Renovatio, ya el 8 (octavo año) de nuestra publicación. Para el comité editorial de nuestra revista es un momento agridulcemente feliz a pesar de las tristes circunstancias, por el hecho de que desde el 2019, la revista ha mejorado ostensiblemente en la clasificación de calidad académica, consiguiendo ostentar ya la versión de la plataforma LATINDEX 2.0. Desde el presente número la revista ya tiene un DOI (Digital Object Identifier) y dos formatos de edición, para el despliegue y lectura de los textos completos de los documentos publicados: PDF y HTML. Ha sido un trabajo duro pero necesario, en este momento en que la virtualidad nos ayuda a seguir conectados, resistiendo estos difíciles momentos para los museos y las actividades culturales.
