Self-referent depressive adjectives an neutral-content adjectives in Spanish: Norms of emoüonality and subjective frequency of useThe aim of this study vi^as to provide an empirically-based datábase of positive and negative adjectives both related to the depressive's self-schema but not related to anxiety. For all the selected words we provide norms on their emotionality and subjective frequency of use. In our study we have also addressed the distinction, quite often ignored, between trait-depression vs. state-depression and we show the resulta for words related to both constructs. The procedure to select words was to get partial correlations between the degree of self-description that subjects rated for a list of 159 DSM-IV-based adjectives related to depression and subjects' own scores on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). Thus, we obtained a final set of 71 negative adjectives significantly related to the trait-or state-depression and 52 positive ones related to the trait-or state-depression. Furthermore, we also selected 86 emotionally neutral adjectives, for which we offer norms of both emotionality and use, to be used as control words in experimental tasks. We finally discuss the implications that these databases of stimuli may have for the advancement of clinical psychology.Key words: State-depression, trait-depression, anxiety, self-schema, information processing, verbal stimuli. , 1996). Explicit and implicit causal attributions in delusions: A study ofits specificity in paranoid deltisions vs non paranoid delusionsAbstract: In this paper the presence of atributional cognitive biases in delusional patients is studied. Explicit (IPSAQ) and implicit (PIT) attributional measures have been used to analyze the attributional style in a sample of 40 delusional patients (19 paranoid patients and 21 non paranoid patients). The results showed the presence of attributional biases (i.e. externalizing and personalizing) independently of the delusional content when an explicit task was used. Compared to non paranoid patients, the paranoid group showed a different attributional style when it was assessed through an implicit task. Theoretical and clinical implications of the results are discussed.
Spanish yi/ords with a paranoia contení: Frequency ofuse, emotionalityand specificity with respect to depressive contents Abstract: Experimental research on the psychopathology of paranoia frequently uses verbal stimuli. Therefore, the availability of well validated ¿alabases of words specifically related to paranoid disorders would be a highly usefiíl tool for researchers. The goal of this study was to provide such datábase of Spanish paranoia-related words. A second goal was to select words related to paranoia but not to depression as it is possible that words with paranoid content may have a depressive contení as well (e.g., 'humiliated'). Thus, we report two different studies. In Study I, our goal was lo select a sample of words specifically related to paranoid contents but not related to depression. In Study 2, our goal was to provide two basic psycholinguistic indexes (subjective frequency ofuse and emotionality) for the sample of words selected in Study I. We finally provide the lists of words empirically selected following this procedure and discuss the utilily of this type of stimuli for fiíture research on paranoid-related disorders.
