El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la factibilidad para invertir en una planta comercializadora de mermeladas de babaco, mediante un proyecto de inversión. Para esto, se empleo una encuesta a 338 vendedores de mermelada, quienes reportan un 70% la disponibilidad a comprar mermelada de babaco frente a la ausencia de diversificación de sabores en el mercado actual. Además, mediante el estudio técnico, se determinó la parroquia San Jose de Poaló, como el lugar idoneo para la planta de producción, aquella que estima una inversión inicial de $147.470,95. Los resultados indican una tasa interna de retorno del 36% mayor a la tasa mínima aceptable de rendimiento del 9,79%, el valor actual neto es mayor a cero y la relación beneficio costo revela un beneficio de 0,65 dólares por cada dólar invertido. Por lo tanto, se concluye la aceptación del proyecto siendo factible la inversión.
