Es natural que, con el pasar de los años, el cuerpo humano se vea cada vez más limitado físicamente, y con ello, sobreviene el decaimiento de la movilidad y un estilo de vida más sedentario. Un metabolismo más lento y hábitos alimenticios inapropiados son otras dos variables que, aunado a otras circunstancias, impactan directamente en el problema del incremento del índice de masa corporal, indicador que predice, generalmente, la obesidad y, por ende, un grave riesgo a la salud, especialmente en la población de adultos mayores. El objetivo del presente estudio surge de lo antes planteado, por ello se adelantó una investigación de revisión bibliográfica, con la cual se pueda abordar el tema del tratamiento de la obesidad en adultos mayores, y cuáles son los riesgos y consecuencias que de ello se derivan. El los resultados se presenta como evidencia algunas opiniones de expertos que aportan acepciones actualizadas sobre la obesidad, cómo reducirla y algunos riesgos y consecuencia de su tratamiento en los adultos mayores. En definitiva, la reducción de la obesidad en adultos mayores tiene como fundamento la prevención; aunado al manejo de complicaciones asociadas y mejora de la calidad de vida a largo plazo. Es por ello que una nutrición adecuada, la actividad física y la atención médica periódica son claves en dicho objetivo. Por otra parte, fueron escasos los hallazgos de literatura que refirieran de manera precisa los riesgos y consecuencias por reducir la obesidad en adultos mayores, pues solo en dos de ellos se encontraron alusiones a: la desnutrición y otras consecuencias asociadas a una terapia nutricional sin supervisión médica; y en la otra, al aumento de la fragilidad, que a su vez resulta en una reducción de la masa ósea y muscular, respectivamente.
Los aneurismas han sido evaginaciones focales, redondeadas o lobuladas que pueden tener un orificio de entrada estrecho (cuello) o una base de implantacien ancha que lo comunica con el vaso. Los aneurismas intracraneales han sido hallazgos incidentales durante la obtención de imágenes por otras causas. El fondo de ojo representa para el médico una ventana exploratoria de carácter único. Los aneurismas son protrusiones típicamente redondeadas de la túnica muscular, deficiente en colágeno, a través de un defecto localizado en la lámina elástica interna y en la túnica media. Es de interés científico de esta investigación ahondar en un tipo poco común y especifico de aneurismas intracraneales como lo son los que ocurren en la retina ocular. El trabajo de revisión bibliográfica constituye una etapa fundamental de todo proyecto de investigación cuyo propósito es garantizar la obtención de la información más relevante en la descripción y definición del Macroaneurisma arterial retiniano. Siempre que se planifique el tratamiento se hace necesario su debido seguimiento pues el hecho de ser una afección usualmente asintomática aumenta riesgos de mayores consecuencias posteriores, sin tratamiento adecuado. Además, los macroaneurismas pueden ser parte de la etiología de otras enfermedades más complejas, es por ello que resulta imperioso su debido y certero diagnóstico.
