La pandemia del Covid-19 tuvo repercusiones socioeconómicas en el año 2020 que se reflejaron en una caída abrupta del PIB real de 7,8%, al descender de 71,789 millones de dólares en 2019 a 66,308 millones en el 2020. Mientras que la tasa de desempleo nacional es de 5.8% y esta tasa aumenta a 7.3% cuando se evalúa el área urbana, lo cual es más dramático en el desempleo femenino al llegar a 9.1%. El objetivo del artículo es monitorear el impacto socioeconómico que ha causado la Covid-19 en las zonas más vulnerables del cantón Guayaquil a un año de inicio de la pandemia. De esta forma se puede apreciar de acuerdo a los datos evaluados que el esfuerzo de la Alcaldía de Guayaquil y la entrega de kits de alimentos durante los continuos confinamientos de esta pandemia llegó en el momento oportuno y es muy bien evaluada por los beneficiarios. Además, la información obtenida permitirá realizar tomas decisiones asertivas en varios ámbitos socioeconómicos.
