Nas últimas décadas, principalmente após a Constituição Brasileira de 1988, a atuação profissional dos antropólogos em contextos socioeconômicos e políticos vem ganhando cada vez mais destaque dentro e fora da academia. Com um olhar diferenciado, graças ao trabalho de campo, aprendemos a enxergar o mundo com sensibilidade e, dessa forma, compreender e traduzir códigos culturais diversos e respeitar a diferença cultural. Por essa razão podemos trabalhar em dois universos, muitas vezes consubstanciados: o científico e o da ação social. Este último relacionado à atuação do antropólogo na elaboração de políticas públicas (para segmentos sociais, urbanos ou rurais -em situações de desvantagem e risco social e para grupos étnicos diferenciados) e no trabalho desenvolvido em organismos governamentais e não governamentais (ONGs) (Feldman-Bianco, 2013) [1] .
Discorrer sobre as histórias das comunidades negras rurais está intrinsecamente relacionado com a memória de vida dos idosos dessas comunidades, pois ela nos transmite o passado. Assim como essa memória, as relações de parentesco e de compadrio são fenômenos sociais submetidos a flutuações, a transformações e a mudanças constantes, dada a natureza dinâmica das relações sociais. As memórias dos idosos, envolvidas nesses processos sociais dinâmicos, revelam novas facetas nos estudos sobre as comunidades negras rurais após a abolição da escravidão. Tais memórias, ao exporem o passado, apontam as especificidades dos grupos de camponeses negros, seus caminhos de constituição e sua luta para realizar a reprodução social camponesa, ou seja, a possibilidade de ter terra, família e trabalho, ideal que denomino de "projeto camponês". Esse projeto, além de ter estabelecido os vínculos de uma "Irmandade" (categoria nativa) formada por ex-escravos, direcionou a vida da ex-escrava Eva Maria de Jesus (tia Eva). Tendo como baliza esses elementos, procuro, neste artigo, apresentar a trajetória de vida de tia Eva e, como consequência, a história da formação da comunidade negra rural Tia Eva 1 em Campo Grande/MS. A memória de que me ocupo tem como ponto de origem a década de 1830, quando as minas de ouro da província de Goiás entram em decadência criando condições propícias para o aparecimento de uma economia agropastoril na região Sul dessa província. Mais especificamente, nas margens do rio Claro, quando a família Vilela, proveniente de Minas Gerais, tomou posse de uma extensa área de terra. Ali formaram, com a mão de obra escrava, a fazenda Ariranhaprimeira fazenda de gado da região. Foi exatamente nessa fazenda que teve início a história de vida da ex-escrava Eva.
Resumo: Por meio das memórias subterrâneas dos idosos da comunidade dos "Negros do Buriti" apresento as trajetórias de vida das famílias de ex-escravos Nortório e Silva, e, como consequência, a história de origem e formação dessa comunidade negra rural (Campo Grande/MS), dessa forma são reveladas novas facetas do pós-abolição em Mato Grosso do Sul.
