International business practice has proved that there is a correlation between the improvement of the quality of business and establishment and development of the competitive capabilities of business organizations. Application and development of the concept of quality creates the preconditions to improve the other factors of competitiveness, such as productivity and innovation. Domestic companies for many years have a problems with the competitive ability on international level. Insufficient investment in qualiz, low productivity and inadequate investments in recearsch and development activity has resulted poor competitive position of the domestic economy. Improving the quality of business in domestic enterprises will affect the improvement of the competitiveness of enterprises. The application of modern methods and management techniques should enable improvement of productivity, as well as the quality of business.
Competitive ability of the company in modern business conditions is difficult to achieve and easy to lose. The reason for this attitude is the fact that the rapid technological improvement enabled the technology with becoming available to everyone in the world under reasonable terms. Competitiveness of domestic companies is very low. Insufficient application of knowledge, low technological level of enterprises, unproductiveness and inefficiency are just part of the problem. Food industry in Serbia shares the fate of domestic economynon-competitiveness is one of the main factors which affect the crisis in agricultural sector. The authors of this paper, based on the available national and international statistical data, have done analysis and display of competitive opportunities of domestic economy in general and in particular sectors of food industry. The authors also indicate the possibility of improving competitiveness.
Global market and establishing new competitive relations require a new approach to business organization management, both in the conceptional and organizational sense. Modern organizations that are actively and continually applying modern management methods and techniques have significantly better chances to strenghten their competitive ability on the global market and to take a stable market position with the perspective for further market growth. Therefore, it is necessary for domestic enterprises to implement those management techniques which emphasize long-lasting orientation towards competitivenessrelationship marketing, business quality standardization, as well as other management techniques based on knowledge. Implementation of modern management techniques is an essential precondition for a successful business performance of domestic enterprises. Misunderstanding of marketing is typical for transition economies. Domestic business organizations have to use foreign business experiences in the process of business internationalization, which means that they have to apply actively the concept of integrated marketing. This paper provides an overview of reserch results regarding the managers' attitudes of domestic companies about the need of improving the marketing practice. Also, the overview of the model for applying the marketing attributes which determine the competitiveness of domestic companies has been provided.
The domestic agro-food sector has an important role in economic development and in overall GDP growth. The concept of Agriculture 4.0 that integrates the use of information-communication technologies presents a direction in which the domestic agriculture sector should focus. Additionally, besides conducting business within the frameworks of Agriculture 4.0, the standardization of processes in the agro-food sector can also contribute to achieving competitiveness on the globalized market. In this paper the importance and number of ISO standards are investigated. In addition, factors and indicators that characterize Agriculture 4.0 are analysed. Based on the collected and analysed data, a unified competitiveness factor (UCF) is calculated for the period from 2017 to 2020. The UCF provides and overview on the potential competitiveness of the domestic agro-food sector. The paper contributes to the existing body of literature as it managed to provide a strong basis for future research in this domain.
