Bu araştırmada, Covid-19 pandemisi nedeniyle uzaktan eğitime geçiş ile birlikte kullanımı yaygınlaşan web 2.0 araçları hakkında sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin görüşlerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan durum çalışması deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında MEB’e bağlı devlet ortaokullarında görev yapmakta olan gönüllü 20 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri, Google Forms üzerinde hazırlanan açık uçlu bir form aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler içerik analizi tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular neticesinde öğretmenlerin soyut kavramlar içeren konuların öğretiminin web teknolojileri ile desteklenildiği takdirde daha fazla verim alınacağı, daha kalıcı öğrenmelerin gerçekleşeceği konusunda hemfikir oldukları görülmektedir. Öğretmenlerin görüşleri doğrultusunda uzaktan eğitim sürecinin teknolojiye erişimi olan bireyler için iyi geçtiği, fakat aynı imkanlara sahip olmayan öğrenciler için verimsiz geçtiği kanısında olduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Bunun yanı sıra öğretmenlerin web 2.0 araçlarını bilme ve kullanma düzeyleri incelendiğinde görev yapılan il/ilçe bakımından doğu illerinde görev yapan öğretmenlerin uzaktan eğitim sürecini öğrencilere kazandırılması beklenen hedefler açısından batı illerine kıyasla daha verimsiz geçirdiği belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların ağırlıklı olarak web 2.0 araçlarını 21.yy. becerilerinden olan dijital okuryazarlık becerisinin geliştirmesi bağlamında faydalı buldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
