La yuca (Manihot esculenta) es uno de los tubérculos más cultivados a nivel mundial, se considerada un alimento esencial debido a que proporciona una valiosa fuente de carbohidratos y un porcentaje significativo de vitaminas y minerales. La cadena productiva de la yuca origina diferentes subproductos como: Cáscaras, hojas y afrecho o bagazo; los cuales poseen un porcentaje de contenido lignocelulósico, almidón y fibra despertando interés por los investigadores. Su inadecuada disposición genera un impacto negativo en el medio ambiente, siendo el aprovechamiento de los mismos una alternativa para mitigar tal impacto. En base a lo anterior, el objetivo de esta investigación consistió en realizar una revisión bibliográfica sobre los diferentes usos o aprovechamientos que se están efectuando a los subproductos generados en esta cadena productiva; para ello fueron consultadas diferentes revistas electrónicas y bases de datos. Se plantearon tres tópicos de interés (cáscaras, hojas y afrecho o bagazo) generados en el procesamiento de la yuca, los cuales han sido empleados en diferentes procesos de producción sustentables como: Tratamiento de aguas residuales, alimentación animal, humana, producción de bioplásticos, carbón activado, ácido cítrico y biodiésel. Finalmente, se resalta la importancia de continuar realizando investigaciones respecto a la temática abordada para la creación de nuevos productos y alternativas que satisfagan las necesidades de los consumidores y así mismo den respuesta a problemáticas actuales.
a cabo del 25 al 29 de septiembre de 2017 en la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas (SEF 2017), hizo homenaje al papel de la mujer en el desarrollo de la Física. De esta manera, el evento contó con la participación de importantes invitados nacionales e internacionales que compartieron sus experiencias científicas, académicas y personales con un total de 16 conferencias plenarias, entre otras actividades académicas como talleres y un conversatorio sobre la temática del evento. La SEF 2017 contó con la participación de alrededor de 365 asistentes quienes enriquecieron el evento con un total de 31 ponencias orales, 11 talleres y 11 ponencias póster. De esta manera, la Resumen: desde el descubrimiento de los Rayos X por Roentgen en 1895 y los trabajos sobre la radiactividad realizados por Marie y Pierre Curie a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, se hizo evidente el uso potencial de las radiaciones ionizantes en diferentes aplicaciones médicas. Es de resaltar que los principios físicos planteados hace más de 110 años son el fundamento de las más avanzadas técnicas tanto de diagnóstico como de terapia empleadas actualmente, las cuales han ido evolucionando gracias a la posibilidad de tratar digitalmente las imágenes, así como de combinar técnicas de producción y detección de la imagen, caso de la Tomografía por
